Here and there

Zoë's been all over the place lately. One day she's very cooperative and compliant, the next she's as stubborn as a mule. The bedtimes... well, it's been a bit better, but it's still not great. Getting her to bed at a decent hour is still a huge challenge. I wouldn't even mind if she went in her room and stayed away for a couple hours before settling down to sleep, but she won't do that, either.

Her speech is, as usual, surprising. She'll come out with phrases we didn't think she had understood (such as telling her dad, "that's gross"), but sometimes she doesn't appear to be able to talk at all (and sometimes, I know, she actually can't get the words out). She does appear to be constantly increasing in comprehension, though, which is a very good sign (her brain is finally processing language a bit more easily).

She'll be having her formal assessment with IQ testing and all that stuff in four to six weeks (well, I guess three to five weeks now, as it's been about a week since we got the notice), and after that, we can apply to whatever school seems best.
